Disaster Cycle Services: An Overview is an instructor-led, virtual instructor-led and web-based course for anyone involved in, or working with, American Red Cross Disaster Cycle Services, including those training to deliver services to disaster-affected clients. This includes disaster responders, disaster instructors, external community and government partners, unaffiliated (event-based) volunteers, and partners.

This course also provides tips for providing services to individuals with access and functional needs, including those with disabilities.

Mass Care: An Overview is a basic, web-based and instructor led course that provides an introduction to the Mass Care activities. The course introduces participants to the Sheltering, Feeding, Distribution of Emergency Supplies, and Reunification services that are provided by Mass Care to people affected by disaster. Participants will learn how to become involved in Mass Care roles.

Shelter Fundamentals v2

Shelter Fundamentals v2 is a basic level course that introduces the roles and responsibilities for opening, operating and closing a shelter during a disaster. The course focuses on what new shelter workers need to know to work in a shelter.


Each delivery method of this course covers the same content. However, the instructor-led course has participant activities. Participants have the option of choosing the delivery method that is best suited to their learning preferences. This fact sheet describes all delivery methods unless otherwise indicated

Operations Management Intermediate Day 1 of 2

Operations Management: Intermediate is an advanced level, instructor-led, disaster leadership course. This course is intended for all disaster leaders and is designed for learners to apply concepts and develop their understanding of the Concept of Operations in a no-fault environment to manage up to Level 4 Disaster Relief Operations.


This course is the intermediate tier of the ConOps training strategy for training our workforce to manage Level 3 and 4 operations.


It is imperative that hosting units for this course only allow participants who meet the audience and prerequisite requirements listed below. Inexperienced participants may be confused by the high level of content presented and may not be able to successfully participate in the discussions. In addition, instructors will not be able to take the time to stop to explain terms and topics experienced participants should know.

Integrated Care Condolence Team Fundamentals supports the standards and procedures and highlights the unique aspects of working as a team to provide services to families and friends of missing, injured and deceased loved ones. The course was revised to align with ConOps 3.0 and new or revised doctrine. The changed content includes more information on fatality-related assistance and updated position descriptions.
