Govn't Ops Fundamentals (new class)

Government Operations Fundamentals is a basic level, instructor-led and virtual instructor-led course that introduces the roles, responsibilities and tasks of the Red Cross government liaison. The course content is based on Government Operations doctrine. Participants engage in activities and scenarios that Red Cross government liaisons typically encounter when representing the Red Cross throughout the disaster cycle.


Note: Government Operations Fundamentals replaced the Emergency Operations Center/Incident Command Liaison course in 2013. Anyone who completed the old course was not required to take the new one.

Feeding Fundamentals v2

Feeding Fundamentals v2 is a basic level course for disaster responders who conduct tasks associated with Feeding when supporting disaster relief operations (DROs).


The instructor-led course contains the same content as the online course.  A participant who completes either the classroom or the online course will be equally qualified to perform the tasks.


Disaster workers who took the previous (2013) version of Feeding Fundamentals are required to take this new course within the next 6 months (by August 2018) or before deploying to a disaster operation in the feeding activity. If a learner is currently enrolled in the 2013 version of the course in the EDGE Learning Management System, that enrollment has been removed to ensure learners do not complete an outdated course. All learners must now enroll in the new version.

Operations Management Intermediate Day 1 of 2

Operations Management: Intermediate is an advanced level, instructor-led, disaster leadership course. This course is intended for all disaster leaders and is designed for learners to apply concepts and develop their understanding of the Concept of Operations in a no-fault environment to manage up to Level 4 Disaster Relief Operations.


This course is the intermediate tier of the ConOps training strategy for training our workforce to manage Level 3 and 4 operations.


It is imperative that hosting units for this course only allow participants who meet the audience and prerequisite requirements listed below. Inexperienced participants may be confused by the high level of content presented and may not be able to successfully participate in the discussions. In addition, instructors will not be able to take the time to stop to explain terms and topics experienced participants should know.

ERV Orientation and Driver Skills Assessment

The ERV Orientation and Driver Skills Assessment is a hands-on course for volunteers and employees who will operate an Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV), a Red Cross specialty vehicle. Red Cross specialty vehicles include Emergency Response Vehicles (ERV) and Mission Response Vehicles (MRV).


Red Cross ERV Driver candidates must meet the minimum qualifications to drive a Red Cross vehicle (valid driver’s license, 3-year Motor Vehicle Record review, and completion of a defensive driving course accepted by the Red Cross).
